GIFT IDEAS

MY TOP 3 CHRISTMAS PRESENT IDEAS

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers are a great idea, this is because it allows the recipient a choice in what they get but it gives more thought that just chucking  a £20 note into a card. This is good as it means more to people to think that you've thought what shop they would like it from and shows that you know that persons taste. My personal favourite gift card is either topshop or mac because I never usually buy anything from either of these as it is too expensive so its nice as a little treat. I love to get these for family friends, because it is easy to post.

PHOTOBOOKS

These are great because they are so easy to personalise and they show that you care without too much effort. I am actually got this for my dad last fathers day and filled it will photos of family memories that he can keepsake forever. I would definitely recommend  photo box for this because mine was under £10 including postage, and was amazing quality.

DVD's/CD's

Now this one is especially good for the brother or sister that are at that age and you just have no idea what to buy them. My little brother is 10 and really hasn't been very specific to what he wants. So I decided that I would go into HMV and see what DVD's were out that we had seen at the cinema and that he enjoyed. In the end I decided to go for wreck it ralph because he loved it at the cinema and it was only £6.99 What a bargain! Pair this with a big bar of chocolate and you're good to go!

I hope you enjoyed this little blog post, and I hope it helped you have some direction for that last minute Christmas rush!
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas!

Quick update- Exam tips

Ok guys,

So some of you may or may not know that I am in Year 11.
I have my mocks starting tomorrow and to say the least I'm a little nervous, although I have done GCSE's before these mocks feel like the start of the examination journey which my teachers like to remind me is 'very important and will affect the rest of your life'. They sure do know how to put the pressure on don't they!

I've got biology, chemistry and English Lit tomorrow and I should probably be revising now because I'm not prepared in the slightest!
However if you are going through the same thing as me then you need to remember that at the end of the day MOCKS AREN'T REAL! You should just treat them as a practice run and learn from your mistakes ready for the ones at the end of the year because they are the only ones that matter at the end of the day and employees aren't going to look at your mock scores, maybe not even your real GCSE's in great detail.

As I said earlier I have already done my core science GCSE and got a B which I am very happy with!
With this experience I would like to give you a few, small but valuable tips (for me anyway!)

1. Get there with time to spare so you can calm yourself and be in the 'zone' for when the exam starts

2. Don't over revise- if you feel like you just can't take anymore revision for that night STOP because it just won't go in.
3, Stay calm- at the end of the day it isn't the end of the world if you fail, there is always a chance to have another go even in the real GCSE's and 10 years down the line your exam results wont be important anymore!

SO....
Just remember to stay calm and trust in what you know because all you can do is try your personal best and no one can ask anymore from you!

IM SO SORRY- Winter time tips

Hi guys,
You may or may not of notifced that ive been away from this blog for about a month now and honestly there is no excuse! (slaps back of hand)

It seems that since the last time I posted the weather has changed from the end of summer to freezing winter! So today I thought I would bring you my top tips for staying toasty and warm outside this winter.

1. Take away hot drinks
Now I don't know about you but the majority of my money goes on food and drink because I just love it so much! Hot drinks are perfect for in the winter and one of my favourite things is walking out and about with  a coffee in my hand I just love it! Also the main coffee places (starbucks, Costa etc) all bring out seasonal specials including my favourite the chocolate and orange mocha latte (mouthful I know) Its like a sophisticated hot chocolate yum!
2. Layers
Layers are a fabulous way to keep warm and cosy during the winter months and still look slightly stylish! One of my top tips is tights and then jeans on top because it just simply acts as an extra layer keeping you that little bit warmer. I also love scarves for the winter months because not only do they keep you warm they add a stylish accessory that people envy at!
3. Invest in a winter coat
With winter coats I believe the majority of the time with winter coats you get what you pay for and it is well worth splashing the cash a little bit when it comes to buying one. My winter coat this year is from zara, they have   a lovely range of warming coats this season and after watching fleur de forces video that mentioned this coat I had to get one for myself! You can see the coat I purchased for £109 here.

I hope you enjoyed this little blog post and I PROMISE I will blog more often because I've missed it!

Love always
Lucymae xoxo

HUGE HUGE HUGE BOOTS HAUL

So you may or may not know that I love shopping!
Boots is my favourite shop ever and honestly I think I could spend all day in there if someone gave me unlimited boots points!
Now I went on a couple of times to boots with my friend Ellie and she is not a good influence on me because I think that I may of spent £30 in just one shop!
So this is what I brought, please note that these are on a couple of different shopping trips and I didn't just go mad!!
I brought this set because I am trying to clear up my skin, I hate it, it didn't work it at all and in fact made it work no wonder it was half price!

The next thing I brought was the rimmel scandleyes mascara which I love and actually did a blog post so have a look at that!
Another thing I picked up was the l'oreal skin perfection solution after seeing talkbeckytalk go on about how it was similar to bioderma on YouTube.
I adore this product and my skin loves it too! It goes on like water so if you have sensitive skin like me (seriously if any oil touches my skin it's like a bomb of spots goes off) it's FABULOUS. As well as all of that it's about £3 and on offer pretty much everywhere at the moment I got mine from boots for about £h2.70! So you really can't go wrong!
Next I brought a real techniques expert face brush because I haven't heard anyone who doesn't like it! I am no expection to this and it is the best brush I have ever used and I use it for concealer and foundation ( I know I should use a concealer brush but I don't have a job so needs must) it's amazing seriously and if you are looking for a foundation brush on a budget get this one it's less than £10 in boots!
Here I realised that I had about 7 more products left and I didn't want this blog to go on forever! I think I will do it in 2 parts and the next part will go up next week as I have all the pictures ready!
Thanks for reading that ramble!

Ted baker makeup bag

So my big splurge with my birthday money was a ted baker makeup bag and im loving it!
I know about these because I follow some themed instagram accounts and they all rave about them so if my pocket wants to blame anyone blame them!
I went for the baby pink one with a black bow in the largest size they do because then I can fit everything in when I go away!
I absolutely love the texture of this bag and it makes me happy everytime I go to put my makeup on!
If you want to treat yourself I would definitely recommend this too you its honestly so nice and really stands out on your dressing table.

Rimmel Scandleyes retro glam mascara review

Hi guys,

So this month it was my birthday and I got money to spend and one of the first things I brought was a new mascara. I picked up scandleyes retro glam because it was £2 off at boots so was only £5 and I had previously purchased the original scandleyes and loved the volume it produced.

I needed a new mascara because I had purchased the bourjois volume clubbing mascara and loved how it went on, but after 4 hours it had all pretty much disappeared off my eyes which was very disappointing.

Luckily I was in luck as the retro glam is amazing and I am so glad I got it because the brush that it has is great and it does  what it says on the tin.
I am also glad because this one stays on all day, even as I am writing this now I have had this on since 9am this morning and it still looks the same and its now 4pm.

This is an amazing mascara and I am loving it and would recommend it to anyone who wants a full impact lash look for drugstore value!

Hi guys,
so if you are in the UK you will be fully aware that we are all going back to school soon (boo!)

For me I am starting year 11 and I have to say I am quite anxious about all the exams and everything. I feel like I am still a little year 7 but now I have a little year 7 to look after of my own. (My school gives us them to look after) which is weird.

I am going to use this blog to outlet about year 11 and what is going on in my life.
If you have already done year 11 I would love some advice on how it goes.

I also have done a Boots and stationary haul so stick around for that!

Collection concealer review

Hello guys,

Today I am going to review the collection concealer that everyone raves about and I have to say that I am fully enjoying it!

I have bad skin and it does seem to cover up my spots better than all the other concealers I've ever had which is a good sign and I go for it over my fit me concealer that I have to.
I am still trying to work out wether it works better on top or underneath my foundation but I think either way it does the job.
It works super well under eyes and I can really notice the difference when I apply it.
I am really liking this product so so much and for just over £4 I don't see where you can go wrong!!
